With the weather warming up, we’re starting to see a lot more fish moving out of their winter hideouts — and they’re hungry! The action has been picking up across the board, making this a great time to fish the waters around Punta Gorda and Boca Grande Pass.
Redfish & Sea Trout Biting Well
Redfish are starting to show up on points with some structure, and they’ve been feeding more aggressively as the water temperatures rise. The Sea Trout bite has also been solid, with plenty of bigger trout hitting baits in the shallows and along grass edges.
Pompano & Sheepshead in Boca Grande Pass
Over in the Boca Grande Pass area, we’ve been finding some nice Pompano, which always put up a fun fight. Around the docks, big Sheepshead have been stacked up and eager to feed — always a great target this time of year.
Best Baits & Techniques
Live shrimp continues to be the top bait right now, but we’re also seeing some success with mid-level twitch baits and paddle tails, especially when covering water and searching for active fish.
With warming weather and hungry fish, now’s the perfect time to book your next trip. Whether you’re after Redfish, Sea Trout, Pompano, or Sheepshead, Reel Sharp Sportfishing will get you on the bite!
Let’s go fishing!
